As of 27th December, the hospital had treated 108 cases of cholera. The Japanese Red Cross have provided some supplies and more are coming in day by day. While there has been only one death at the hospital, there have been deaths out in the community from people refusing to come in to the hospital.
There have been fewer regular patients over the festive period but the hospital is expected to be very busy once the regular outpatient department opens along with the Well Baby Clinic.
The hospital has had an abnormally good amount of electricity since Christmas Eve night with only 1 hour off in all that time and has been able to catch up with all its washing as a result.
