The Chidamoyo Christian Hospital

The Chidamoyo Christian Hospital is a part of a Church of Christ Mission in the north-western part of Zimbabwe. It is situated in a remote rural area – a 90 minute drive on a dirt road from Karoi, the nearest town. It provides invaluable services to the people of the district, most of whom are subsistence farmers.
Services include:
Out-Patient Services - the hospital caters for a patient population of 50,000 people, seeing over 6,000 outpatients monthly
In-patient Services - The hospital offers an 85 bed facility. Maternity Services deliver over 100 babies a month. There is a 12 bed paediatric ward for children and mothers. 80% of the children admitted are for AIDS related illnesses.Tuberculosis Wards have 20 beds for patients with TB. Patients stay up to 2 months. 95% of these patients are HIV positive.There are 20 Medical/Surgical beds for male and female patients. Most of the in-patient beds are for AIDS related illnesses.
Laboratory, X-Ray, surgical and pharmaceutical services are offered to all patients at affordable rates.
11 Well Baby Clinics for Immunisation are done monthly, within a radius of 40 km around the hospital.
The hospital offers AIDS Home Care. AIDS patients are visited in their homes after discharge from the hospital. The hospital offers psychological support as well as physical care for the patients and their families.
Spiritual Care care is also provided. Daily devotions for staff and patients, Bible studies, prayer time with patients and church services are offered.
