Reading Roadrunners help us achieve target for project!

The Chidamoyo Trust, based in Crowthorne supports The Chidamoyo Christian Hospital in remote northern Zimbabwe where people are poor and AIDS is rife. Our target was to raise £20,000 for the rebuilding and refurbishing of the laboratory and medical testing facilities. Reading Roadrunners adopted the Trust as it chosen charity for 2005. On the 4th of February, 2006, at their annual dance, a cheque for £19,539.26 was handed over. This very generous donation means that work can begin on the new laboratory immediately. We have already purchased a Haemoglobinometer which will be shipped out as soon as it is delivered. Money from other supporters including The Crowthorne Eye, local churches and schools and numerous individuals, will be used for projects like School Sponsorship, Prevention of transmission of the HIV virus to the unborn child, and the Orphan Support Programme. Well done Reading Roadrunners!!
