- Why do the expenses of the trust seem so high on the Charities Commission Website?
-
The Charities Commission classes all donations the trust makes to the hospital as expenses. The Chidamoyo Trust has no running expenses, these are all covered by the trustees. All money donated to the charity is used by the hospital.
- When trustees visit Zimbabwe, who pays their air fares?
- The trustees always pay their own airfares. Not Chidamoyo Trust funds are ever used to cover travel expenses
- What do the trustees do while visiting the hospital?
- Anything to make themselves useful! They have in the past updated hospital records, weighed patients, taken down information on visits to outlying clinics, helped unpack containers and even dusted and painted shelves.
- Is it safe to visit Zimbabwe?
- The trustees have always felt perfectly safe in Chidamoyo.
- What do you enjoy most about visiting the hospital?
- Without doubt: the people. They are so warm and friendly and very positive considering the hardships they endure.
